Kebreab Demeke (b. 1987, Ethiopia) has MFA in Art and Public Space from Oslo National Academy of The Arts in 2017 and BFA with a specialization in painting from ASFAD, Addis Ababa University in 2010.
Keebreab's art practice is often about shifts in cultural life and political identity within Ethiopia and an international influence over the years. His works seek to find and transcribe existing and forgotten knowledge that has changed over generations. The visuals in his works narrate complex historical realities of the 20th- and 21st century Ethiopia, in connection to contemporary political and cultural contestation in his country.
Kebreab portrays his artworks in a variety of media, which include painting, printmaking, performance, Digital-Collage, and installation.
